How We Review Medical Content
At Weight Medics, our priority is always our patients. We develop all of our information with rigorous standards in place to ensure it is reliable, safe, and clinically sound. Our goal is to give you clear, supportive guidance that promotes your health and well-being, while fully complying with UK regulations for the safe and responsible prescribing of medication
All of the medical content that we feature on the Weight Medics website is regularly reviewed by our board of directors to ensure that it is clear, accurate and unbiased.
Our team of doctors, nurse prescribers, prescribing pharmacists, and accredited nutritionists are highly educated, with years of experience in their fields and they and hold memberships with key bodies in healthcare so you can trust the information you read here will help you through the next steps in your health journey, whether that’s for yourself or for a loved one.
We have a renewed commitment to help all people navigate their health and wellbeing—regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, religion, culture, geography, body type, ability, or experience.
We only cite reputable, authoritative sources. Typical references include:
- British National Formulary (BNF) for dosing, contraindications and interactions.
- Electronic Medicines Compendium (SmPCs & PILs) for UpToDate, regulated product information.
- NICE guidance and technology appraisals.
- Peer-reviewed evidence syntheses (e.g., Cochrane Reviews) and major clinical trials.
- UK public bodies (e.g., MHRA Drug Safety Updates) and professional standards (e.g., RPS frameworks).
Before any content is released, it undergoes thorough checks for clinical accuracy, regulatory compliance, and clear, accessible language.
We then review all information regularly, at least once every 12 months, and earlier if new safety information, updated guidance, or emerging evidence becomes available
If you notice anything incorrect, unclear, or have suggestions for how we can improve, we encourage you to contact us. All feedback is carefully reviewed, and content is updated where necessary. Any urgent safety issues are promptly escalated to our clinical governance team
